Biography
Christoph Büren is a farmer and farm manager based in Pocancy in the Marne region of France. He took up his first responsibilities within VIVESCIA in 1999. As Chairman of the VIVESCIA cooperative group since January 2017, Christoph Büren is convinced that the grain, farming and agri-food businesses have a role to play in tackling global challenges such as climate change, preserving biodiversity, demographic pressure, global food security and the energy transition. They are part of the solutions, today and even more so tomorrow.
Christoph Büren will be talking about the carbon and biodiversity challenges facing the vegetable and cereal industries. This will be an opportunity to talk about TRANSITIONS, the pioneering programme launched by VIVESCIA in 2023, which aims to support 1,000 farmer-co-operators between now and 2026 towards regenerative, low-carbon agriculture that is good for the soil and biodiversity.
