Elsa Laval – EU Commission

Biography

Elsa Laval is an agricultural economist with robust experience in agricultural policy and economic analysis. She currently serves as the Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission in the unit in charge of monitoring and analysing agricultural markets for various commodities, including cereals, oilseeds, and olive oil.

Prior to this, she held similar roles within the European Commission, overseeing CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) Strategic Plans, Rural Development Programs, and Direct Payments to farmers. Throughout her career at the European Commission, Elsa has also worked on evaluations of the CAP, micro-economic analyses of EU farms and budgetary forecasts for direct aids.

Elsa holds a Diplôme d’ingénieur agronome with a specialization in economy and agricultural policy from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Agronomie de Rennes.
