AIBI, the Brussels‑based association representing the EU industrial bakers, is looking for a Sustainability Manager to join our team and help drive the sector’s sustainability transition. Through the Sustainable Wheat Initiative Europe (SWIE), the European bakery sector has committed to reducing the carbon footprint of wheat and wheat flour by 30% by 2030, in close collaboration with the milling and agricultural sectors. This ambitious roadmap is supported by a growing coalition, with 70+ companies already signed up—and the momentum continues.
🔎 The role
As Sustainability Manager, you will coordinate the Sustainable Wheat Initiative Europe and:
- Lead project management and coordination
- Draft technical documents and reports
- Engage with a wide network of stakeholders (EU institutions, industry, science, trade organisations)
- Organise training sessions, seminars and events
- Manage data reporting and support expert groups
- Represent SWIE externally and help grow the coalition of action
👤 Your profile
- University degree (life sciences, engineering, agronomy preferred)
- ≥ 3 years’ experience in sustainability, environmental or climate policy
- Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset
- A genuine passion for sustainability
